Purchased in 1989, Deli Star’s 8,000 square foot plant produced 10,000 lbs. of cooked proteins per week. Now in 2017, Deli Star’s 70,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility can produce up to 720,000 lbs. per week. Led by a very experienced operations team and food scientists, we place food education and sustainability at the forefront of everything we do. We ensure a healthy and nutritious product for our customer, provide a great place to work for our employees, reduce food waste through extended shelf life products and donations, only source meat from providers known for humane treatment of animals, support land preservation and native plant restoration, and invest in our local communities.
Giving is not exclusive to the holidays – it is a year-round season for Deli Star. The company is a proud supporter of the United States Armed Forces, supplying all branches with our nutritious, ready-to-eat entrées. We are stewards to the Southern Illinois and Greater St. Louis areas, and support our regional churches, schools, food banks and charities by donating thousands of pounds of our high-quality, locally produced food to area organizations such as Operation Food Search, Southern District of Illinois, East St. Louis Grade School and Althoff Catholic High School.
St. Louis Innovation Center
Collaboration and creativity collide at our St. Louis Innovation Center. Located in the heart of downtown St. Louis’ Laclede’s Landing district, the center is home to our state-of-the-art, restaurant-style kitchen, where customers work side-by-side with Deli Star’s R&D team and chefs, fueling collaboration in creating innovative menu choices.
