Reducing Food Waste, Packaging, & Saving Resources

Vacuum packs provide several functional benefits, such as reducing packaging per volume of meat, cutting cutting corrugate usage for shippers, and requiring up to 60% fewer trucks for transportation–lowering fuel consumption. By combining vacuum packs with our fresh, never frozen promise, Deli Star products use less electricity required by frozen storage, and enhances distribution by extending shelf life–to minimize waste and ensure stocked products.

Sustainability Advantages of Fresh Sous Vide

Fresh sous vide creates the safest, highest quality ready-to-eat proteins, while reducing waste. Deli Star’s sous vide process uses 90% less water than traditional water bath approach, while retaining the sensory advantages of the cooking method. By creating optimal cooking and chilling conditions through batch processing, reducing end-user recall risk, and extending refrigerated shelf-life.
